Currently at the Internet Summit 12 at the Raleigh Convention Center with 1K other people. Between conference sessions the Convention Center’s WiFi becomes unusable for the majority of people, (per Twitter chatter) because everyone is connecting at the same time. I believe this helpful feedback for the Convention Center Management, so they may continue to upgrade their wireless/bandwidth infrastructure to support on-going conferences and events.
A few solutions and case examples similar to my experience: http://serverfault.com/questions/72767/why-is-internet-access-and-wi-fi-always-so-terrible-at-large-tech-conferences

Holden Street Beautification Project Archived735-799 Holden St Raleigh, NC - Mordecai
Where Holden Street meets Brookside Drive, there is a section of overgrowth that is not ideal. Garbage, vines, weeds, dirty signs, and erosion combine at the entrance to our neighborhood. We are also noticing this is a location for loitering at night due to low lighting and low visibility. With a little bit of planning and cooperation with neighbors and the city of Raleigh, we can transform this plot into a beautiful entrance to Oakdale.
We need the City of Raleigh's help with the following, please:
- Schedule time with a Parks and Rec Tree representative to instruct on what volunteers are allowed to do with regards to trimming brush, vines and trees along the right-of-way. (Yes, we already have permission from the property owner) Also, instruct us on what plants such as bushes, trees, perennials to plant.
- Who can work with us to have mulch delivered, so volunteers can spread it along the right-of-way.
